In 1978, Smith Systems, Inc. began building high-reliability coil assemblies used in commercial aircraft start switches. Our product line and customer base have grown steadily since then. Smith Systems, Inc. products are now installed in environments ranging from automobile racing engines to the Space Shuttle, from power generation systems to the underside of railcars.

Common applications include Positive Train Stop (PTS) zero-speed sensors, oil and air temperature sensors, journal bearing temperature sensors and harnessing, speed sensors for brake control functions and other applications of bi-directional zero speed sensors with quadrature outputs. These products must survive high vibration, shock, EMI/RFI, temperature extremes, and exposure to salts, acids, solvents and fuels.
