Supervisory Responsibility




Position Overview:

·         To act as the lead for all HSR project related activities and to provide functional leadership to the Division Directors within the Group. The 4 Divisions of the HSR Project Group are:

o   Engineering

o   Delivery Management

o   Project Management Office

o   Commercial




Position Requirements:


·         Held Project  leadership roles in HSR (preferable) or relevant rail projects

·         Hold relevant degree and/or professional body qualification

·         At least 20 years of Senior Management in HSR and/or relevant rail projects experience with successfully implementation, with involvement in:

o   Engineering (i.e Engineering Assurance, Engineering Design, Construction & Logistics and Operations & Maintenance)

o   Delivery Management (i.e Package Delivery, Interfaces Management and Land Acquisition & Stakeholder Management)

o   Project Management (i.e Project Controls and Management Systems)

o   Commercial (i.e Commercial, TOD planning and Procurement)


Key Roles/Responsibilities:


·         Delivery of very large multi-contracts to time, cost, quality, specification, safety and environmental requirements. Leading and managing from strategy to successful delivery, through effective coordination of the project, its interdependencies and risks.

·         Manage successful development and delivery of the HSR Project and its budget.

·         Manage and deliver the HSR Project, to time, cost and quality targets.

·         Create an environment within which Directors, Engineers and project managers can successfully deliver their projects, ensuring that there is coordination between and integration of projects within the HSR Project Group.

·         Provide an ongoing health check of the HSR Project Group by assessing whether its projects meet objectives, use funds and resources efficiently, and will realise the agreed benefits.

·         Establish the safety ethic within the programme and providing a safe working environment for the execution of work directly under their responsibility.

·         Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and processes.

·         Report HSR Project Group progress to the CEO.

·         Maximise efficiency in the allocation of resources and skills within the HSR Project Group.
