Senior Project Engineer (Signalling)Recruiter: Network Rail
Location: York - UK
We’re looking for engineers to help us change the face of transport in the North.
Network Rail is on a mission to deliver a better railway that will transform how people travel and make a massive difference to passengers and freight user’s across the North of England. We’ve already invested in technology to make each project efficient, cost effective and environmentally sustainable. Now we’re investing in the talented experts we need to deliver the programme.
You’ll be at the heart of our success, managing the use of engineering standards for design and construction across every project within the national programme. You’ll enjoy an impact on everything from quality and cost to safety and compliance. And it’s not just about design and construction – your remit will also encompass commissioning, testing, site supervision and control. Implementing and monitoring systems, techniques and procedures including engineering controls, risk assessment and HAZOP analysis will be just the beginning. You’ll assure the competence of Project Engineers and contractors, and provide specialist advice and guidance to them and to project and programme management. What’s more, you’ll review the latest legislation and liaise with government departments.
You’ll bring to the role significant engineering experience, ideally including multidisciplinary construction and design projects and major contracting. Qualified technically to HND or above, you’re also a member of a relevant professional institution. Your knowledge will certainly span systems engineering, safety cases, safety management, quality assurance and independent works inspection. In return, you’ll enjoy excellent benefits and opportunities for personal and professional development.
What we do ask is that you are the sort of person who is as excited as we are about our £2bn enhancement scheme to transform the North’s transport system.
