Amey acquires WYG's rail activities

UK: Amey has strengthened its position in the rail consulting sector by taking over 100 specialist staff and a portfolio of multi-disciplinary design framework contracts from WYG Engineering, part of the WYG Group.

Amey's rail consulting activities have grown from 200 staff in 2006 to nearly 1 000 today. 'We are pleased to welcome these additional experts from WYG, who bring strong partnerships with major rail customers as well as expertise and knowledge of the rail market,' said Chief Executive Mel Ewell. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
