USA: Ansaldo STS has won two contracts totalling US$18m to supply automatic train control systems to Bombardier and Kawasaki Rail Car for rolling stock being supplied to US operators. The equipment will be based on Ansaldo’s MicroCab technology.

The equipment for Bombardier will provide continuous cab signalling for the additional 100 double-deck commuter rail cars ordered by New Jersey Transit in July 2010 as an option on an existing contract.

Kawasaki Rail Car will fit the MicroCab ATC to 364 Series 7000 cars being supplied to Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority under a contract signed in August 2010. This order includes an option for a further 64 cars.
