Europe: Eurotunnel has selected Alcatel-Lucent to install GSM-R equipment throughout the Channel Tunnel operator’s rail network.

France: SNCF is to use JDA’s price-sensitive revenue management software to set fares for iDTGV services.

Italy: Trenitalia has awarded Compagnie des Wagons-Lits and Wasteels a two-year contract to provide customer services and logistics for night trains from February.

Morocco: Spanish consultancy Ardanuy Ingeniería is to study the resilience of power supplies for safety and telecoms equipment on ONCF’s 27 km Casablanca – Nouaceur route.

UAE: Aecom has been selected to manage the infrastructure aspects of Abu Dhabi’s Capital District urban development project, which includes the creation of an extensive transport network.

 

UK: Freight operator First GBRf has won its first contract to haul passenger services, running between Taunton and Cardiff until the end of July on behalf of franchisee First Great Western.

USA: Alaska Railroad has appointed Rail Safety Consulting to provide independent advice during the development of its Positive Train Control system.
