INDIA: The section of Delhi Metro Line 2 south from Qutub Minar to HUDA City Centre in the satellite town of Gurgaon opened at 08.00 on June 21 with simultaneous train departures from each end.
The opening adds 14·5 km and nine stations to the Delhi Metro network, taking it to a total of 125 km and 107 stations.
The latest extension of Line 2 will remain isolated from the existing northern section of the route until the 12·5 km Central Secretariat - Qutub Minar link is completed later this year. Chhattarpur station is also still under construction.
