Factory grows

28 November 2009

HUNGARY: A bogie production hall was opened at Bombardier’s Mátranovák plant in northeastern Hungary on November 6. The investment in the former Ganz Steel Structure works cost €22m, with half the funding coming from the national government via its Economic Development Operations Programme.

The extension of the factory has seen Bombardier take on a further 150 staff, and allows it to keep increasing output. Annual production has grown from 660 bogies in 2005 to a planned 2000 units this year.
