Horizontal lift

20 March 2010
Wien.

AUSTRIA: JA Becker is to deliver 16 heavy lifting rigs to Wiener Linien's Simmering workshop by 2013 under its largest contract win in the rail sector. The first lift should be installed by the end of January 2011.

Based around a steel superstructure, the 16 units consist of seven frames and up to eight pairs of side-mounted jacks for body lifts. The equipment is configured to lift 12 different vehicle types, both metro cars and trams.

According to Christian Hoppe, Sales Director for Lifting Equipment, the equipment features piston technology developed for the bus and truck market that can move horizontally as well as vertically.
