Montréal's Windsor Station sold to Cadillac Fairview

05 August 2009
VIA Rail in Montréal.

Passenger services now use Gare Centrale.

CANADA: On August 4 Canadian Pacific Railway announced the C$86m sale of the Windsor Station office complex in Montréal to The Cadillac Fairview Corp.

Now designated a National Historic Monument, Windsor Station was built in 1887-89 as both a station and Canadian Pacific's head office. Passenger services now use Gare Centrale and Canadian Pacific has moved its headquarters to Calgary, but the railway still has offices at the site in central Montréal.

CP has entered into a long-term lease and will remain the principal tenant of the offices, 'reflecting its close connection to the building and its long-term presence in Montréal.'
