Mumbai car order

INDIA: CSR Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Company is to supply 16 four-car trains for Line 1 of Mumbai metro under a Rs6bn contract. The first four trainsets are due to be delivered in 18 months' time, with the whole fleet arriving in Mumbai by mid-2010.

Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd is currently building the 11 km Versova – Andheri – Ghatkoper route under a 35-year BOT concession awarded last year. Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd is owned 74% by the Reliance Energy-Veolia Transport consortium and 26% by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority.
