Regionalbahnen im Südwesten

07 August 2004
Book review

by Michael Kochems and Frank von Meißner

The German railway companies Hohenzollerische Landesbahn, Südwestdeutsche Verkehrs-AG, Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft mbH and Württembergische Eisenbahn provide local passenger services over around 1300 route-km of their own and DB lines in the southwest of the country.

This 200-page German-language book describes modern railway operations in Baden-Württemberg, along with the railway history needed to understand the current situation. There are around 200 black and white illustrations, and a colour map showing details of which companies operate where. A chapter is devoted to the NE81, RegioShuttle and tram-train vehicles which operate many of the services in the region. ISBN 3-87094-240-1

€19·80 from Alba Fachverlag GmbH+Co KG, Postfach 110150, D-40501 Düsseldorf, Germany.
