Restructuring announced at Tognum

By: 01 March 2007

TOGNUM announced a restructuring on February 5, creating two divisions which Chief Executive Volker Heuer says will provide 'clear structures of responsibility and allow us to implement our growth strategy more effectively.' The new Engines & After-Sales division is centred on MTU's rail, marine and heavy industrial engine manufacturing businesses located in Friedrichshafen, Detroit and at Suzhou in China. Dr Gerd-Michael Wolters will head the Engines division, with Rainer Breidenbach taking on responsibility for After-Sales in addition to his existing role in Sales & Marketing. A Systems & Components division will encompass MDE Dezentrale Energiesystem, the CFC Solutions fuel cells business, L'Orange injection systems and Rotorion, a new brand for drive shafts. The division will be headed by Christof von Branconi, who joins Tognum from Lurgi AG on March 1. The Tognum brand was launched last July, as a holding company for the DaimlerChrysler Off-Highway businesses acquired by EQT in March 2006. n
