Targeted adverts to support free train wi-fi

WI-FI: 'Transport operators want to attract more people to use train and bus services, and offering free wi-fi during a journey is compelling proposition', according to Dave Palmer of Icomera, which has launched a service offering train operators a path for switching from paid to advertising-supported onboard wi-fi services.

MoovManage Ads is an optional component of the MoovManage web-based hotspot management service which enables train operators to monitor and remotely configure multiple mobile broadband gateways across their fleets.

Target advertisements are presented to passengers during their online session. 'MoovManage Ads provides a highly effective way of introducing advertising to the hotspot, whether offering discounts on season tickets or messages from third party sponsors', said Palmer.
