Vossloh awarded €100m point machine contract

13 August 2010

SWEDEN: Trafikverket has awarded Vossloh a 10-year framework agreement for the supply of in-sleeper point machines for the 11 904 route-km national rail network, which has 11 428 turnouts. The contract is worth more than €100m and has an optional five-year extension.

Vossloh will supply a customised version of the Easyswitch actuation system developed by Vossloh Cogifer. 'This new product meets the specific requirements of the Swedish railways and again underscores our vast engineering competence', said Vossloh CEO Werner Andree when the contract was announced on August 12.

Trafikverket was created on April 1 to bring Sweden's rail, road and other transport authorities together in one organisation.
