Vossloh expands in China and Russia

14 October 2010

CHINA: Vossloh, Huaxing and China Railway Material Group have signed agreements setting up a joint venture to produce turnouts from the end of 2011.

The production plant is to be established on an existing Huaxing site at Wuhu near Nanjing. It will have up to 500 employees and an annual capacity of 2 600 switches. Marketing will be handled by CRMG, a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corp, with annual sales estimated at €75m.

Vossloh has a 50% stake in the venture, which follows from a previous agreement with CRMG for the production of rail fastenings

  • Vossloh has entered the Russian market with a €10m contract to supply RZD with rail fastenings for the relaying of 200 km of track. The W30 design has been specially developed for the Russian market, and received approval for use in September.
