‘A hundred and forty years ago, St Pancras was the modest modern station in the world. It is once more’, says the opening of chapter 11 of this book, detailing how the famous London station was revitalised for use as the UK terminus of Eurostar’s cross-Channel operations.

Descriptions of the aims and thinking behind the work to adapt the station for modern needs have been provided by various people involved in the project including Chief Architect Alastair Lansley. Among the 459 illustrations are historic views and specially-commissioned photographs.
