A new force in railway publishing
THIS ISSUE marks an exciting mile-stone for our magazine, as we launch a new publishing group dedicated to providing the very best news, business and technical information for the world's railway industry.
With our portfolio including Railway Directory, Rail Business Intelligence and Metro Report, plus our websites www.railwaygazette.com and www.railwaydirectory.net, the Railway Gazette group is already widely recognised as the world's leading international provider of business information for the rail industry. In an era of globalisation, a timely and detailed understanding of international developments is not just 'nice to know', it is becoming essential. Hence our long-standing commitment to play a key role in spreading best practice.
Over our 172 year history, Railway Gazette International and its predecess-ors have been published by a variety of different companies. Another era began on April 1 with the transfer of the Railway Gazette portfolio to DVV Media Group. Under its Eurailpress brand, DVV publishes technical titles for the rail and public transport sector, including Der Eisenbahningenieur (EI), Eisenbahn Technische Rundschau (ETR), Railway Technical Report (RTR), Signal & Draht and Internationales Verkehrswesen, as well as a wide range of technical and business books. It also runs international conferences and provides an online news service at www.eurailpress.com.
We are confident that bringing these complementary groups together will enable us to offer an unrivalled source of information to the increasingly international railway industry. We have already identified significant synergies which can be exploited as we work to develop our services, both online and in print.
