Australia: Interfleet Technology is to provide operations advice for the development of the 13 km Gold Coast Rapid Transit line.

Morocco: Telvent is to supply its SmartMobility technology to give the future light rail system in Rabat priority over road traffic.

Russia: RZD’s TransWoodService will sell its Tikhoretskaya, Tomsk, Orenburg and Zelenodolsk sleeper plants this year. Saudi Arabia:NEC Portugal has begun supplying Thales with GSM-R cab radios for trains on the future North–South Railway.

UK: Telent has won a contract to supply and maintain information and surveillance systems at 148 First Great Western stations. National Express East Anglia is to install wi-fi on its Norwich – London services with financial support from local authorities.

Zimbabwe: After vandalism and theft wrecked NRZ’s CTC systems, GPS equipment has been fitted to locomotives to allow NRZ to track its trains from six control centres.
