06 February 2010
Melbourne.

AUSTRALIA: On January 11 Metro Trains Melbourne services began calling at the new Nunawading station which has been relocated as part of the A$140m Springvale Road Separation project to eliminate one of the busiest level crossings in Melbourne.

The track has been lowered 8 m and a road bridge built to replace the crossing which was used by 50000 road vehicles, 218 trains and 5000 pedestrians a day. The project was undertaken by the Springvale Road Rail Alliance of VicRoads, the Department of Transport, John Holland, Arup, KBR and the train operator.
