Three bids for Athens metro contract

GREECE: Attiko Metro and the Ministry for the Environment, Physical Planning & Public Works have received three bids for a contract to supply 17 six-car trainsets for Athens lines 2 and 3.

Technical and financial offers were submitted by AnsaldoBreda, CAF and a partnership of Hyundai-Rotem and Hanwha. The winner is expected to be announced in early 2009, within a budget of €155m.
