ITALY: Milano transport operator ATM has awarded AnsaldoBreda a €210m contract to supply 30 six-car metro trains, with an option for 30 more.

Of the initial order, 20 trainsets will replace existing rolling stock on Line 1, while 10 will be deployed on Line 2. The trains will feature air-conditioning and CCTV.

'The success of AnsaldoBreda in this important tender confirms the group's competitive capacity and the high technological level achieved by our product', said AnsaldoBreda CEO Maurizio Manfellotto. He added that the order 'encourages us to continue in our efforts to make our company grow and to launch it more and more into a highly competitive market in which we are demonstrating that we can deliver products with an excellent ratio of quality, reliability and price.'
