INDIA: Noida Metro Rail Corp and Delhi Metro Rail Corp signed a memorandum of understanding on July 29 covering operations and maintenance assistance.

DMRC will provide assistance in the run-up to opening of the metro line and in the first three years of commercial operation, which is due to begin in December 2017. There is an option to extend the agreement.

DMRC is acting as project management consultant on construction of the 29·7 km elevated line. This will link Sector 71 in Noida with Bodaki in the neighbouring city of Greater Noida with 21 stations. Services are expected to run every 10 min initially, increasing at a later stage to every 5 min during the peaks. CRRC Nanjing is supplying 19 four-car trainsets.
