Formed in 1979, the Union aims to stimulate co-operation between railways in Arab countries to co-ordinate their activities and ensure interconnection with each other and with international rail networks. Membership comprises railways in Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan (Hedjaz and Aqaba railways), Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria (Syrian and Hedjaz Syrian railways), and Tunisia, as well as a number of manufacturers, associations and railway-related organisations in several countries.
This organisation does not have a live website, and with conflict in its host country it is very likely to be currently moribund.
