See Rio de Janeiro network map.
Following the liquidation of Flumitrens in 2001, the state holding company Central took over operation of the two metre-gauge Rio suburban lines that had not been privatised with the main 1600 mm gauge network in 1998.
One links SuperVia at Saracuruna with Magé and Guapimirim (42 km), while the other is an isolated line on the opposite side of Guanabara Bay from Niteroi to Visconde de Itaborai (33 km).
Also operates the Santa Tereza tramway.
