Guangzhou Metro Corporation

An inaugural tram route opened on December 31 2014 running east from Canton Tower to Wanshengwei on Haizu Island in central Guangzhou. The Haizu Tram serves 11 stops and is operated by supercapacitor-powered LRVs.
The Huangpu Tram opened on July 1 2020 to the northeast of the city. Line 1 runs east from Changping station on metro Line 21 to Xinfeng Lu (7·9 km, 10 stops). An extension south from Changping to Xiangxue on Line 6 opened on December 28 2020 (6·4 km). Line 2 running southeast from here to Nangang on Line 13 is under construction, with the first section as far as Kaiyuan Dong Lu opened on June 20 2025 (4·9 km). Several further lines are planned for this district of Guangzhou.
