Opened 2015; single route with 15 stops.
The VLT RMBS consortium began full service on this west-east route acrosss the Ilha de São Vicente from Barreiros to Porto on January 31 2017 (11 km, 14 stops). Test running began in May 2015 and a limited public service on January 31 2016 using LRVs supplied by Vossloh España and T’TRANS. An additional stop at Conselheiro Nébias opened in February 2017. A streetcar-style loop from Conselheiro Nébias to Valongo opened on December 1 2025 (4·3 km, 12 stops).
An extension of the main route is planned from Barreiros across the Ponte dos Barreiros to the mainland and then continuing west to Terminal Samaritá over the alignment of the former mainline railway (7·7 km, 3 stops).
