Monterrey Light Metro
Opened 1991; network now comprises three lines with 39 stops. See Monterrey network map.
Line 1 runs east-northwest and was opened on April 25 1991; a single-stop extension was added in 2003 (total 17·8 km, 19 stops). North-south Line 2 opened 1994; northern extensions opened in 2007 and 2008 (total 13 km, 13 stops).
Line 3 opened on February 27 2021 (7⋅5 km, nine stops). It runs from the south end of Line 2 at General I Zaragoza northeast to Hospital Metropolitano; trial running began in 2018.
In addition to 24 ex-Frankfurt U3 LRVs bought for refurbishment in 2019, Metrorrey is also buying 26 new EMUs from CRRC Zuzhou, due for delivery from 2021.
