The dense network around the city centre is at the hub of 14 radial lines. A 2·2 km tunnelled section connects Milchbuck and Schwamendingerplatz to the northeast.
VBZ also operates the Forchbahn light rail line from Zürich Stadelhofen to Esslingen (S-Bahn Line S18), the Glattalbahn light rail network northeast of Zürich on contract for Verkehrsbetriebe Glattal, and VBZ’s Line 2 tram operates over the Limmattalbahn from Farbhof to Geissweid (2·9 km, 7 stops).
The Dolderbahn, owned by the Dolderbahn Betriebs AG, is operated by VBZ (1·3 km, 4 stops); replacement vehicles were ordered from Stadler Bussnang in June 2021.
