10th UIC High Speed Rail World Congress
UIC and Turkish State Railways have issued a call for papers for the 10th World Congress on High Speed Rail, which is now scheduled to take place in Ankara on May 8 – 11 2018.
The main theme of the congress is “Sharing knowledge for sustainable and competitive operations”.
According to UIC Director General Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, 'the 10th World Congress in 2018 should put a strong focus on new opportunities opened up by the digital revolution for sustainable operations and increased synergies between the rail sector and universities as well as the research world including start-ups, on intramodal connections and multimodality.'
Initial abstracts of no more than 1 000 characters must be submitted by October 15 2017 for review by the Scientific Committee. Applicants will be informed by January 8 2018 whether they have been selected, not selected or put on a waiting list. Full presentations must then be submitted by April 1 2018.
Abstracts already submitted before the congress was postponed from July 2017 will remain valid, but potential speakers have the opportunity to update them if necessary.
