Keihan Electric Railway

Runs two main lines, Osaka (Yodoyabashi)--Kyoto (Demachiyanagi) and Kyoto (Sanjo)--Shiga (Hamaotsu, Ishiymadera, Sakamoto), plus two branches and a funicular (2 cars, 0·4 km). One branch, the Goryou--Hamaotsu Kyotsu line, runs through to the Kyoto metro Tozai line. A 2·9 km extension to a second Osaka terminus at Nakanoshima opened 2008.
