St Petersburg Tramways

First line opened 1863, first electrification 1907. Conventional tramway has 42 routes, mostly in the suburbs; since 2001 most city-centre routes have been abandoned. Services are provided by two operators: municipally-owned GET (operator of 37 routes), and the private operator TKK (qv, 2 routes); 3 routes are suspended during reconstruction.
