Aoimori Railway
The Aoimori and Iwate Galaxy railways were both created in 2001 to take over sections of the narrow gauge Tohoku main line when JR East’s Tohoku Shinkansen line was extended 96 km north from Morioka to Hachinohe on December 1 2002.
