Almost all the network, concentrated in the northern flatlands, is now out of service; only three short sections totalling 62 km are still operational. The network includes lines nationalised in 1983 - the Tela Railway (formerly run by United Brands Co), and Vaccaro Railway (Standard Fruit Co).
