Florida Department of Transportation

The Florida DoT funds a commuter service between Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, inaugurated in 1989 over track purchased from CSX Transportation in 1988. The service is administered by a local agency, the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (Tri-Rail), and operated under contract.
