Great Southern Rail

GSR, owned by Serco Group Plc, purchased Australian National's transcontinental passenger operations when AN was sold in 1997. It operates the Sydney--Adelaide--Perth Indian-Pacific, the Darwin--Alice Springs--Adelaide Ghan and the Melbourne--Adelaide Overland, using motive power hired from Pacific National.
