Hekurudha Shqiptarë

The first public railway was opened between Durrës and Peqin in 1947; it was extended to Tirana in 1949 and Elbasan in 1950. Several other new lines followed, the last being to Vlorë and Hani i Hotit on the Albania-Montenegro border in 1985.
