Société Nationale des Transports Ferroviaires

First line opened 1862. On Algeria becoming independent in 1962 the railways came under the control of Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer, and from 1976 SNTF took over operations. SNTF has 9 wholly-owned sister companies involved in various aspects of rail transport, and 4 partnerships.
