CHINA: The first two of 40 light rail vehicles that CRRC Nanjing Puzhen is supplying to MRT Corp arrived at the Tuen Mun depot in Hong Kong on December 28.

CRRC is supplying the LRVs under a HK$745m order placed in 2016. In addition to replacing the 30 Phase 2 LRVs in service since 1992, the vehicles will help to expand the fleet to 150 by 2023.

Following dynamic tests, the first batch of the new LRVs is expected to enter passenger service in 2019. Deliveries are due to end in 2023.
