RUSSIA: Moscow Metro has awarded Metrowagonmash a 30-year contract to maintain 248 Type 81-760/761 metro cars which were supplied in 2012.

The Transmashholding subsidiary will take over the metro’s Novogireyevo depot under the contract, which requires 232 cars to be available for service.

In a separate development, Russian Railways has agreed to sell the Voitovich car repair plant in eastern Moscow to Moscow Metro, which is to use it as a depot for trains that will run on the Ring Line currently under construction.
