United Wagon Co opens Estonian wagon servicing centre

28 Jun 2017

ESTONIA: Russian rolling stock manufacturer United Wagon Co has opened service centre at Skinest Rail’s Valga depot to provide warranty and post-warranty support for modern wagons operating in the Baltic States.

UWC says its service centre ‘is unique in the Baltic States’, having specially trained staff and holding the documentation and spare parts need to repair wagons with 25-tonne axleload 18-9855 bogies. Further spare parts can be sourced within 48 h.

UWC now has a network of 61 servicing and six training centres across Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Estonia. ‘We began building a servicing network even before our first wagon had entered service’, said Dmitry Losev, Deputy CEO for Technological Development, on June 19. ‘We believe that technical support is integral to our products, and that it is our duty to provide it. We have put special emphasis on a comprehensive, all-inclusive approach, which includes adapting depots as well as close co-operation with infrastructure providers and customers.’
