Europe: Société Industrielle du Hanau has signed an agreement to sell the French trackwork supplier Cogifer Group to Vossloh AG of Germany. Vossloh is to sell its interests in VAE of Austria.
France: SNCF has decided not to exercise its option to purchase the 49·99% of Telecom Développement held by Cegetel. The joint venture operates a 19000 km optic fibre communications network.
Germany: DB signed an agreement on July 9 to transfer its Stendal workshop near Berlin to a joint venture owned 51% by Alstom and 49% by DB. One of a number of workshops identified for sale or closure by DB, the plant specialises in heavy repair and renovation of Class 202 and 212 diesel locomotives.
DB has agreed to purchase for €2·5bn the logistics company Stinnes, whose Schenker subsidiary was owned by the railway until it was sold in 1991.
