Virtually travel the world from InnoTrans with Bombardier Transportation
BOMBARDIER TRANSPORTATION: A ‘highly interactive’ indoor stand will be the focus of Bombardier Transportation’s presence at InnoTrans 2018, with the company opting to focus on dialogue with visitors rather than displaying hardware.
A virtual reality exhibit will take visitors on an immersive 360° experience of cities across the world, featuring the Innovia monorail cars and Cityflo 650 signalling which Bombardier is to supply to Bangkok, a Flexity tram in Zürich and a Movia metro train in Stockholm. An interactive presenter will help visitors to explore options for signalling, operations and maintenance services.
At InnoTrans 2016 Germany’s Ministry of Transport & Digital Infrastructure announced funding to support the development of a battery-equipped version of Bombardier’s Talent 3 electric multiple-unit able to run onto non-electrified lines. This year the prototype with be on test at Bombardier’s Henningsdorf factory on the outskirts of Berlin, ahead of the planned entry into service in 2019.
While Bombardier is focusing on virtual displays, its customer Austrian Federal Railways will be displaying a Cityjet-branded Talent 3 EMU on one of the outdoor display tracks.
