India: Thales is to supply passenger information systems for extensions to Delhi metro line 6.
Japan: Softbank Telecom Corp is to supply JR East with 7000 Apple iPad mini tablet computers and digitised documentation. Train crew will use these to provide passenger information and respond to problems faster.
Poland: PKP PLK has awarded WYG International a 0·9m złoty contract to study the construction of a 2 km rail spur to Szymany airport, which the local authority wishes to reopen. Journey time for the 56 km to Olsztyn would be about 45 min.
The City of Olsztyn has awarded Sprint a 67m złoty contract to supply a traffic management system giving trams priority at road junctions and providing real-time information on vehicles and at stops.
