Europe: Quintiq and Ab Ovo are to supply DB Schenker Rail with software to manage data on driver qualifications.
Germany: Bombardier Transportation has appointed Tata Consultancy Services to manage the IT infrastructure for its newly-opened data centres.
Hungary: Budapest transport authority BKK has appointed T-Systems Hungary and subcontractor Scheidt & Bachmann to supply a modern fare collection system.
Poland: Kompania Wglowa has awarded PKP Cargo Service a four-year contract worth 68m złoty to operate sidings at its Piast coal mine, and DB Schenker Rail has a 43·5m złoty contract for the Knurów-Szczygowice mine.
PKP Informatyka is to supply ticket machines and back-office systems to ŁKA, the voivodship company which is to take over operation of Łódz suburban services.
