UK: Stagecoach Group has deployed SilverRail’s SilverSearch SaaS technology platform to provide ‘a co-ordinated and consistent multi-channel approach to journey planning’ across its South West Trains subsidiary’s websites and mobile app from June 1. Passengers can plan journeys based on route, price and availability.

According to Cameron Jones, Chief Commercial Officer at SilverRail, there is a ‘continuing trend’ for transport operating groups to take greater control of their ticket retailing activities, enabling them to ‘innovate and bring new planning and ticketing experiences to their customers’.

‘For Stagecoach’s train operating companies, the ownership of their customer journey search data provides key business insight’, according to Jones. ‘A single view of seasonality, booking lead times and route popularity across channels can shape service provision, merchandising and yield management.’
