Syntus orders Flirts for Zwolle services
NETHERLANDS: Stadler Rail is to supply Syntus with 16 Flirt3 electric multiple-units for use on the services from Zwolle to Kampen and Enschede which the Keolis subsidiary is to operate from December 2017.
The €125m contract announced by Stadler on March 2 covers the delivery of nine three-car and seven four-car units along with 15 years of maintenance. The EMUs are to be manufactured in Switzerland, with the first scheduled to be delivered for testing in June 2017.
Stadler is currently evaluating sites for the opening of a Dutch service centre, having won orders in the past 18 months to supply 58 Flirts to NS Reizigers and six to Abellio.
