CHINA: CRRC Qingdao Sifang has delivered the first trainset for Chongqing metro Line 5. It is the first of 39 six-car trainsets that will operate on the future route.
Designed for the steep gradients that will be a feature of China’s deepest metro line, the trainset is more powerful and can negotiate curves of a smaller radius than metro rolling stock produced by CRRC Qingdao Sifang to date. It has a maximum speed of 100 km/h and capacity for 2 322 passengers.
