POLAND: The first of 15 Type Pt trams which Tramwaje Śląskie acquired second-hand from Frankfurt-am-Main has been unveiled following an extensive modernisation.

The tram has been fitted with new ends, along with a low-floor centre section built by Katowice company SAG to replace a high-floor module.

The tram has been converted for single-sided unidirectional operation, with the doors on one side welded closed and doors from WPWŚ KS fitted on the other. The retractable steps have been replaced by fixed ones.

Astromal has supplied new seats, and R&G the passenger information system. Woltan supplied replacement electrical equipment, with the original DC motors retained.
