FRANCE: Phase 1 of Lyon’s fourth tram line entered service on April 20. Linking Jet d’Eau to Feyzin, the €185·3m line T4 is 10 km long with 18 stops, and is operated by 13 Citadis trams.

Sytral, the city’s transport authority, was one of the first to choose Alstom’s Citadis design, purchasing 47 cars for lines T1 and T2 in 1998; a further 13 were procured in 2005 for Line 3. With the opening of T4, the fleet has now grown to 73 and a further three cars will arrive by 2013.
